What is MACD Crossover?
Crypto Glossary Definition
A MACD Crossover is a trading indicator. It occurs when a short term moving average line intersects, or crosses over, the long term line. A crossover can occur in either a bullish or bearish direction.
Why MACD Crossover Matters
A "golden cross" (short-term line crossing above the long-term line) is read as a bullish momentum signal, while a "death cross" (crossing below) is read as bearish — but like any single indicator, MACD crossovers generate plenty of false signals in choppy, sideways markets, which is why traders typically pair it with volume or trend-confirmation tools.
